IT Consultant

As an IT Consultant for E-Flo Computers I travel to various Schools/Colleges/Businesses around the Sydney region, providing both on-site and remote support for an extremely wide variety of hardware and software:

  • Desktops, laptops, 2-in-1 devices, tablets (iOS and Android), chromebooks, servers (from HP MicroServers to Dell T640’s with 30+TB of redundant storage), enterprise network gear, Robotics kits, 3D printers, laser cutters, CNC milling machines, and more.
  • Supporting Windows 7/10, Server 2008-2019, iOS, Android, ChromeOS,various router/switch OS’s (Ubquiti unifi/EdgeRouter, Mikrotik RouterOS, CiscoIOS, HP/Aruba switch and WAP firmware
  • RMM setups for Windows, MDM setups for iOS devices
  • Management of server services (DNS, AD, DHCP, Office365, SQL, IIS, Apache, etc) using both GUI and CLI (powershell, bash, cmd prompt)

I can comfortably say that I learned both a little about a lot, and a lot about a little.

  • Assigning devices on a 1:1 basis to students and selected staff
  • Organising warranty repair of devices
  • Hardware maintenance/repair of devices as required

I was also involved in special groups related to RMU (Resource Management Utility), a custom-built web tool deployed by the NSW DEC for managing/tracking the DER laptops, and developed scripts to assist with managing/maintenance of devices
